Exploring Microstructural Evolution at DSL 2026

From 22 to 26 June 2026, the DILAPRO project took part in the 22nd International Conference on Diffusion in Solids and Liquids (DSL 2026) in Rhodes, Greece, marking another valuable milestone in the project's scientific outreach within the additive manufacturing community.

The conference brought together a diverse range of academic and industrial perspectives focused on diffusion-related phenomena and advanced applications.

As part of the event's technical sessions, Archana Ravi from IMDEA Materials Institute presented the project's ongoing research: "Microstructural Evolution during Rapid Solidification and Thermal Cycling in Additive Manufacturing Alloys: A Physical Simulation Study"

This contribution provided important visibility for key research areas linked to:
· Microstructural changes during rapid solidification.
· Thermal cycling behavior in additive manufacturing alloys.
· Core material properties crucial for understanding and improving advanced production processes.

Participating in DSL 2026 offered an excellent opportunity to connect the DILAPRO project with broader scientific discussions, ensuring that our work remains firmly grounded in a context where fundamental materials knowledge and manufacturing innovation go hand in hand.
